£20 million of interest free loans available for energy efficiency projects

The Department for Energy and Climate Change has made £20 million of interest free loans available for energy efficiency projects across the public sector, covering further and higher education organisations.

The scheme allows public sector bodies to apply for an interest free loan to finance up to 100% of the costs of energy saving projects.

The funding can be applied for in this current financial year only, ending on 31 March 2012. Projects then have to be completed by end of December 2012.

Applications will be processed on a first come first served basis until all funds are allocated so the sooner an application is made then there is a greater chance of obtaining the required funding.
