Keeping you informed

Keeping you informed
The RSC has several different ways of communicating with colleagues in the post-16 education and training sector. This is so that we can:

  • raise awareness of the RSC and what we can offer you;
  • disseminate relevant information;
  • encourage greater participation and collaboration in the region.

You're already using one of our main communication tools our website, where we have a News section, but here's some information on what else we use.

Email

We use email as a way of keeping our contacts up-to-date with relevant news, information and events. We try to keep the amount of emails to a minimum by targeting them to spcecific audiences making sure that the message gets to the right people.

JISC mailing lists

We facilitate a series of email mailing lists in the region in order to encourage knowledge sharing within the academic community. Several of these adjoin to regional forums and user groups.

These mailing lists are a good way to pose questions and get feedback from colleagues in other learning providers. RSC advisors will also send news, e-bulletins, resources and requests to the lists.

See the available lists.

RSC Newsletter

The RSC East Midlands newsletter is called "intouch" and comes out digitally, approximately every two months. The online newsletter offers a mixture of news and features, as well as the chance for readers to add their comments to articles.

Case studies

We produce case studies of best practice in e-learning from learning providers across our region. The case studies are published on the Excellence Gateway website - a one stop portal for advice, resources, news, teaching & learning materials and case studies for practitioners at all levels in the post-16 education and training sector.

Web 2.0 technologies

We use a variety of web 2.0 technologies to enhance our communications. This includes:

In Brief

This is a series of regular online webinars designed to give busy tutors useful ideas and information to enhance and extend teaching and learning using technology. These normally take place on the first Tuesday of every month.
