Assistive technology kits
JISC RSC SW can provide a box of Assistive Technology free to our supported providers. This kit can be viewed as a resource for increasing access to technology and the opportunities that can bring, particularly in e-learning. It contains a range of high and low tech solutions to help to overcome any barriers and generally improve access to computers for the widest range of learners.
Those with recognised disabilities and many others who have difficulty using a standard computer can benefit from simple adjustments or adaptations. The mice, keyboards and software in the kit will raise awareness of what is available and allow teachers and learning support staff to explore and become more confidence in offering these solutions to learners. This equipment can be borrowed for an agreed period without charge if a named member of staff will take responsibility for its return.
A description of the possible use of the equipment is included as a guide to get you started but each learner is different and as you experiment you will discover different ways in which to use the kit. For this reason we would like you to agree to provide feedback on its use for us to share with other providers.
Download and view further details on the equipment contained in the accessibility boxes.
