Under development: SWANI

19 Dec 2011

During 2011 a number of Welsh FE colleges have run projects within the JISC Learning and Teaching Innovation Grants SWaNI FE Programme and all are now coming to their conclusions and submitting their final reports for dissemination in the New Year.

One of the projects, cannily entitled "Secure Work-Based Learning Administration through Networked Infrastructure (SWANI)" and led by Coleg Sir Gâr has recently been the subject of a blog post by Rowin Young at JISC CETIS.

Rowin describes how the project is attempting to use 'digital pen' technology to find a solution to the need by government for handwritten signatures within a digital learning environment.

For more about all the JISC SWaNI projects, covering a range of topics, see the JISC website.

Thanks to Rowin for highlighting this interesting work.

JISC CETIS is the organisation which provides JISC Programmes with essential support on interoperability and standards. Its website includes a number of very useful blogs and they also issue monthly email digests covering many aspects of technology in education. Well worth following!
